Following a short-lived stint in commercial banking after undergrad at the University of Illinois, I realized I needed to change course. I'm grateful that at age 25 "ignorace was bliss". Life lesson in itself.
Long story short...I grew up in a family of educators and can see now how I am now a high school counselor and licensed clinical social worker in private practice. Even before banking, my life was most influenced by - and in invested in - people and sports. At the end of the day, I'm grateful for the way my life has unfolded.
Having worked in education for 20 years and in private practice for 15, I find I constantly learn and discover new insights about people -- the way we tick, the things that motivate us. In many ways we're all a work in progress. And the same goes for me. Five years ago I stumbled in to Crossfit Barrington and have been changed as much by the sense of community as the health and fitness benefits.
